A brand new comedy show is coming to Huddersfield for one night only.

Comedian Patrick Kielty will be bringing his UK comedy tour, Borderline, to the Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield on Thursday June 16.

Apart from his stand-up work, Kielty is considered to be one of Northern Ireland’s national treasures and has hosted reality TV shows such as Love Island, Comic Relief Does Fame Academy and the BBC’s Fame Academy.

Making his long-awaited return to live comedy in his first stand-up tour in seven years, Borderline sees Kielty return to his satirical roots with a personal take on borders, national identity and the Union’s future in a post-Brexit landscape.

As a Northern Irishman who grew up near the Irish border, Kielty delves into his homeland’s recent past to try to make sense of what Brexit’s new borders and political upheaval mean for our shared identities.

Bittersweet, poignant and laugh out loud funny, Borderline is a humorous love letter to the future of our islands from this award-winning comedian’s personal past. Expect both laughter and tears throughout the evening.

Kielty said: “The world’s been turned on its head the past few years and thanks to Brexit, we’re more obsessed with borders and national identity than ever.

“With Northern Ireland at the centre of it all, it feels like the right time to get back on stage and try to make some sense of where we’re heading.”

The show will begin at 7.30pm and end at 9.20pm. Standard tickets cost £24 and concession tickets cost £22. Tickets can be purchased by calling the box office on 01484 430528 or online at https://thelbt.org/.
