Businessman Ken Davy has been appointed president of the Platinum Partners consortium at the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice in Huddersfield.
Mr Davy, an entrepreneur, philanthropist and current interim chairman of the Rugby Super League, will lead the development of the hospice corporate partner’s intiative.
Luen Thompson, chief executive of Forget Me Not, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Ken to lead our Platinum Partners to bring together businesses who want to make a significant difference to the future of our children’s hospice.
“Ken’s extensive experience, business acumen and influence will be a huge asset – helping us attract those corporate partners best placed to support us in achieving our mission of being a leading light in children’s hospice care, whilst also meeting their corporate and social responsibility goals.”

Mr Davy said: “I’m looking forward to working with Forget Me Not and our Platinum Partners. It’s a fantastic opportunity to develop a prestigious consortium of high-level businesses all committed to supporting the vital work of this amazing charity.
“Because Forget Me Not is a West Yorkshire charity supporting babies, children and families across Kirklees, Calderdale, Wakefield, Leeds and Bradford, you can see the impact of their work throughout the community every day.
“The clinical and respite care they provide to families caring for a baby or child with a life-shortening condition, the support they give to mums and dads facing the loss of a pregnancy or baby during or soon after birth, therapy, counselling and support for bereaved families and all the activities they put on to enable families to have fun together and make precious memories – all of this makes a huge difference to so many people. Our Platinum Partners will play a major role in helping us achieve even more.”
Forget Me Not’s inaugural Platinum Partners include Advanced Supply Chain Group, Altrad UK & Ireland, Charlesworth Family Group, CORE Facility Services Ltd, Froneri UK and Richter (Huddersfield).

To become a Platinum Partner, businesses need to commit to supporting the charity for at least a year. In return, they’ll receive exclusive invitations to partners-only events and royal engagements, a dedicated fundraiser to help both parties to achieve the most from the partnership and access to the soon-to-be-launched Child Bereavement Training for Employers Programme.
They’ll also play a significant role in helping to secure the future of the hospice.
