Are you a parent or carer of a child with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND)?

Due to the success of previous Local Offer drop-ins, Kirklees Council has arranged new dates over the next couple of months where you can find out more about SEND activities, support and services.

The Kirklees team will be on hand in local libraries to provide all the details you need about support for children and young people aged 0-25 with additional needs, plus their families. Anyone can call in to hear about the Kirklees Local Offer.

Clr Carole Pattison, Cabinet member for learning, aspiration and communities, said: “It was great to hear such positive feedback about the recent Local Offer drop-in sessions. I’m so pleased that we are continuing to go out into our communities and chat to residents.

“The Local Offer is a fantastic resource which we are keen to share with our families. It helps some of our most vulnerable children and is one of the ways we are transforming SEND provision across Kirklees.”

Clr Viv Kendrick, Cabinet member for children, said: “Supporting children and young people to be happy and to achieve is key to ensuring they get the best possible start.

“Everyone is welcome to call into these informal events, where we can provide so much information for people affected by SEND. We are hugely committed to making a difference for local families.”

Library sessions are being held on:
