Age UK Calderdale and Kirklees will be holding Tai Chi sessions for older people.

David Crabtree will host the sessions in Huddersfield on Fridays and Halifax on Tuesdays.

Tai Chi combines deep breathing and relaxation with slow, flowing movements designed to reduce stress, improve posture and balance, and improve general mobility.

As a low impact exercise Tai Chi is suitable for all ages and many of the Tai Chi movements can be adapted to suit people with a disability, including wheelchair users.

An Age UK spokesman said: “Come and try something different with us this September! A free Tai Chi t-shirt and non-slip socks will be provided when you join.”

It costs £3 a session – Tuesdays at 5.30pm at Rimani House Wellbeing Centre in Halifax and Fridays at 11am at Sundale House Wellbeing Centre in Huddersfield.
