So the game against Boro was the perfect warm up as two goals each from Laura Elford and Laura Hulme put the Terriers into the quarter-finals where they will face an away trip to top-of-the-table Wolves.
Glen Preston’s side made a fast start to the game putting Middlesbrough on the backfoot from the first whistle. Katie Anderson set Town on their way with a goal in the 11th minute.
The Terriers finished the game as a contest before half-time when Elford scored her two goals.
With only seven second half minutes played, Town scored a fourth goal. Elford was fouled and Britt Sanderson stepped up to loop the ball over the wall and into the net.
A fifth goal was scored moments later as Hulme got herself onto the scoresheet, connecting with Yasmin Mason’s pinpoint cross and finishing perfectly.
Hulme got her second and Town’s sixth of the game late on though Boro grabbed a consolation to deny the Terriers a clean sheet.
