Marsden FC are having a very busy period on and off the pitch to get ready for the new season ahead.
Having played a number of pre-season friendlies, boss Luke Haigh is pleased with how things are coming together.
He said: “It’s been a rollercoaster couple of months since taking over the club. We have loads of work going on behind the scenes and we have gone from strength to strength in players and staff members.
“Due to the sheer number of players interested in coming to us we have now entered a reserve team into the Huddersfield District League. Due to this I’ve had to bring two more coaches into the club, Richard Coggon and Steve Charlton. Both are the perfect characters for the club who I trust 100% to take the reserve team forwards.
“I’ve also brought in Oliver Eaton from Huddersfield Town Women FC to cover our social media channels and game coverage. He’s a great guy to have around the club and the lads have taken to him very well already.
“That’s seven staff members I’ve brought into the club already. Considering the club nearly folded at the end of last season that’s brilliant.
“I have brought some real quality into the Marsden squad of late with a nice blend of youth and experience. The players so far have been brilliant and worked very hard on the training pitch.
“We are now preparing for the season ahead. The main thing I’m looking for in pre-season games is match fitness, trying to implement my style of play and looking at some new signings.
“It’s solid, hardworking performances I’m looking for. Results are irrelevant in friendly games.”
