Huddersfield’s Florence Mangeni has won her third national title.
Florence, 19, who boxes out of Huddersfield-based Gladiators Boxing Academy, won the Class D open Class NAGBCS national under 52kg final in Bridlington.
She beat Welsh boxer Carmen Lynch from Porthcawl and Pyle ABC on points and coach Den Doyle said: “It was an excellent display of boxing from both girls with Mangeni adding her third national title to her growing collection which includes the Hull Box Cup Gold and the Regional Senior Elite Championship Belt.”
Den added: “Florence trains twice a day five days a week and has been working on her very unorthodox style which incorporates great footwork and head movement with explosive bursts and fast counter punches.
“Her dream is to one day box for England and win an Olympic gold medal. Florence is really talented and is certainly one to watch.”
