People can take an e-bike out for a 45 minute spin … for free.
Roadshows called Walk Wheel Ride have been organised by Kirklees Council with EPIKS (Environmental Projects In Kirklees).
The Huddersfield ones will be on Tuesday March 26 and Wednesday March 27 from 10am to 4pm at the St Andrew’s Road car park at the John Smith’s Stadium in Huddersfield.
People can get free, impartial advice on the benefits of e-bikes with the chance to test a bike in the car park or take one on a 45-minute ride with a qualified instructor on a mostly traffic-free route.
The Dewsbury ones will be at Dewsbury Country Park in Ravensthorpe on Thursday March 28 and Friday March 29, again from 10am to 4pm.
The organisers say: “E-bikes offer an affordable, healthy, low-carbon alternative way to travel. An e-bike rides like a normal bike with the benefit of a motor that assists pedalling and makes climbing hills easy. Riders still do a bit of pedalling which means they keep fit while they ride.”
The roadshow is not affiliated with any manufacturers or brands so there are no sales tactics or hidden agendas. Only people aged 18 or over can take part.
