After two years’ absence, Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice’s flagship Colour Run event is back on July 30 – and it’s found a new home in Huddersfield’s Greenhead Park.

Perfect for families, friends and workmates, Forget Me Not’s Colour Run sees hundreds of participants take on an easy 3.5km walk, jog or run while being showered in clouds of coloured powder to raise thousands of pounds for this local children’s charity.

It’s a vital and much-anticipated event for Forget Me Not, who were forced to cancel the Colour Run in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Vicky Stackhouse, events fundraiser at Forget Me Not, said: “The Colour Run is one of our most popular and exciting events so we’re absolutely thrilled to bring it back this year – and at such a great location, right in the heart of Huddersfield!

“Our Colour Run raised an incredible £26,000 in 2019 – every penny of which helped us support children with life-shortening conditions and their families in the local community.

“Not being to hold this event since then has obviously been really difficult, both in terms of fundraising but also because it’s such a great community event. We really hope people come together and get involved again this year.

“Because after two years that have been distinctly lacking in colour, and with lots of fun to be had, this Colour Run is definitely not to be missed!”
