Newly-promoted Emley AFC have secured a pre-season friendly against Huddersfield Town in what is likely to be the first game in charge for new Terriers’ boss Michael Duff.

The Pewits, who won the Northern Counties East League Premier Division in style, are preparing for life in the Northern Premier League, Step 4 in the football pyramid.

Town, relegated to League One, are expected to bring a first team squad to the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground on Saturday June 29 (3.00). The bars will open at 1pm.

The stadium capacity is 2,000 and Emley are expecting a big crowd. The match is all-ticket and fans are advised to buy them as soon as possible.

Emley season ticket holders and members will be invited to purchase from Saturday May 25 and remaining tickets will go on general sale on Saturday June 1 at 9am.

Tickets cost £15 for adults and £10 concessions and are only available from the Emley AFC online club shop.

There will also be a souvenir programme available to pre-order when purchasing tickets to guarantee a copy. Only a small number of additional copies will be available on the day.

There are no bookable seats in the main stand. These are available on a first come, first served basis.

After purchase, fans will be emailed an e-ticket barcode(s) which should be presented at the gate for scanning. There’s no need to print the email/barcode as it can be scanned from a smartphone.

The concession rate is available to those in receipt of state pension, under 16s, anyone in full-time education and people who are registered disabled.

Emley AFC chairman Andrew Painten said: “We are delighted to be hosting a fixture against Huddersfield Town’s first team.

“We aim to become Town fans’ second-choice team when the Terriers play away next season. This fixture gives Town fans the chance to experience the fantastic atmosphere at our Welfare Ground and to get a look at our team ahead of our NPL return.

“Fixtures like these help our club financially, and the funds we collect from this game are crucial to the successful running of our club.

“I’m excited for our supporters to start the pre-season with a bang, and we look forward to welcoming all of Town’s officials, players and staff on matchday.”
