Kirklees Council have announced free parking in Huddersfield, Holmfirth and Dewsbury town centres in the run up to Christmas.

Although parking will be free on certain days and times, maximum stay limits still apply and drivers are advised to check before leaving their cars.

Free parking, which applies to pay-and-display car parks and on-street parking, is available as follows:

Huddersfield

  • Saturday 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th December – no charge for parking from 12pm to 6pm
  • Maximum stay still applies

Holmfirth

  • Friday 9th, 16th and 23rd December
  • Saturday 17th and 24th December – no charge from 12pm to 4pm
  • Maximum stay still applies

Dewsbury

  • Saturday 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th December – no charge for parking from 1pm to 6pm
  • Maximum stay still applies.
