The countdown is on to the magical Moonshine festival in Slaithwaite where picture windows will light up homes and businesses in every street.

The village will be illuminated from 6pm-9pm from Thursday to Sunday (February 24-27) and you can download the Moonshine Map from the www.slaithwaitemoonraking.org.uk website.

Whether it’s the hilltop streets such as Meadow Lane, Longlands, Holme Lane and Merrydale, the hidden gems of Crimble Bank, Brook Terrace, Brookside and Rock Lane, the village centre itself from New Street down to Carr Lane and Britannia Road or the windows along the canal up to Guillotine Lock, there’s plenty of walks to keep you busy for each of the four nights!

And don’t forget to look out for Tinker the Cat in the window pictures and see how many you can find.

The theme of this year’s festival is water – and there’s certainly been no shortage of that recently!
