Staff and students at two Huddersfield schools have been praised for helping the Huddersfield Town Foundation Food Bank Appeal.

Both Salendine Nook High School and Moorlands Primary School organised collections for a great cause and their efforts have drawn praise and thanks from local councillors.

Lindley councillors Cahal Burke, Anthony Smith and Ashleigh Robinson attended Huddersfield Town’s game against Lincoln City to support the schools and recognise their efforts.

The councillors have worked closely with both schools on their social action projects and Democracy Friendly Schools initiatives, which aim to empower young people to make a difference in their communities.

Clr Burke said: “We are incredibly proud of the students and staff at Salendine Nook High School and Moorlands Primary School. Their hard work, dedication and compassion in supporting the Huddersfield Town Foundation Food Bank Appeal are truly inspiring.
