Huddersfield’s largest lettings agency, Whitegates, has retained its No1 spot in national awards.

Whitegates has once again won Lettings Office of the Year 2022 at The Property Franchise Group Awards. Whitegates has achieved the accolade every year since the awards started.

The business, run by Chan Khangura and his father Kashmir, a well-known magistrate, has over 1,000 managed properties. It is the largest Whitegates branch nationally.

Mr Khangura said he was delighted to maintain his company’s position and it was testament to the hard work and dedication of his staff and the support of his clients.

“It is a fantastic achievement to stay on top and be No1 year after year but it’s not something we take for granted,” he said. “We are constantly striving to give our clients the best service possible.

“We have over 1,000 managed properties and we provide all our landlords with free eviction cover so they have peace of mind.”

Mr Khangura purchased Whitegates in 2012 and has since acquired other competitors including long-established Huddersfield firm Whitworths and also Linden Lettings and Easy Lettings.

Mr Khangura added: “I would like to thank everyone who supports me day in, day out and I’d like to thank all my clients for their continued support which helps us continue to grow the business.”

With an uncertain economic outlook following the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, Mr Khangura sees better times ahead.

“It has undoubtedly been a difficult few years for everyone in the UK,” he said. “We have all suffered great losses and we are still working our way through a financially demanding economy.

“However, our hard work and continued support from the community will hopefully see another successful year.”
