Huddersfield’s largest lettings agency has acquired the rental business of a Brighouse-based property management company.

Fast-growing Whitegates, owned and run by managing director Chan Khangura, has enjoyed rapid growth in 2023.

Now Chan and his father Kashmir have purchased the rent round of McField Residential Lettings and Property Management Ltd from owner James Horsfield, who is to concentrate on his sales business.

Chan said: “It’s great when two well-respected companies can work together for mutual benefit and I’m delighted that we were able to take over James’s letting business.

“It’s never an easy task to integrate a new acquisition but I can honestly say this has been one of our smoothest and it was a pleasure to deal with James and his team.

“This is an ongoing relationship where McField will refer all lettings leads to my company.”

McField will continue to sell properties across the area and James said: “This agreement has meant me and my team are able to focus on our core strengths which is property sales.”

This year Chan has also acquired lettings agencies CMK and Let Two. In recent years Chan has also bought long-established Huddersfield agency Whitworths along with Linden Lettings and Easy Lettings Northwest.

Whitegates Huddersfield, Holmfirth and Brighouse has been voted Whitegates No1 office nationally every year since 2016.
