A community is preparing for its annual summer fete.
Upper Hopton Fete will be held on the village recreation ground on Saturday July 29 (10.30am-4.30pm).
The annual event is organised by Upper Hopton Community Association with all the other village organisations getting involved including St John’s Church, Upper Hopton Pre-School, the Women’s Institute and Upper Hopton Cricket Club.
The fete is centred around the Upper Hopton Recreation Ground and the Croft House Community Centre.
The nearby Upper Hopton Club will also stage the Upper Hopton Mini Beer and Music Festival on the same day.
The fete is all about family entertainment at a low cost. There will be falconry, brass band music, a steel band, bouncy castle, Punch & Judy, a coconut shy, football skills, circus skills, performances by the Katie Philpott School of Dance and lots of games for young and old alike. There will also be a wide variety of delicious food options.
Entry costs £3 per person (accompanied under 16s are free) and the fete starts at 10.30am and closes at 4.30pm. Some of the activities are free but where prizes can be won the cost is £1.
