The Huddersfield Town Foundation is offering four people the chance to take part in the world’s first 100,000-runner marathon.

With the results of the 2021 Virgin Money London Marathon Ballot announced recently, the Town Foundation has secured one place on the traditional course and a further three places for the virtual event.

On Sunday October 3 50,000 participants will take on the traditional course from London’s Blackheath to The Mall, with another 50,000 people around the globe running the 26.2 miles on the course of their choice at any time throughout the day.

As the official charity of Huddersfield Town, the Town Foundation delivers a range of programmes across four key themes: Education, Health, Inclusion, Sport and Trust.

Its aim is to engage, inspire and positively impact the community of Huddersfield and the wider Kirklees area.

All successful Town Foundation entrants will receive a runner’s pack including practical fundraising tips, a training and diet plan, suggested apps and Spotify playlists and a Town Foundation running vest.

Runners will also be invited to attend training sessions with The Town Foundation, which may include gym sessions or group runs on the track at Leeds Road Sports Complex.

Furthermore, the foundation staff team will provide significant support in fundraising, including the promotion on social media channels.

To register your interest in representing the Foundation, please complete their ONLINE QUESTIONAIRE.

The deadline for applications is 12 noon on Friday March 19, with successful applicants being notified week commencing Monday March 22.

Runners will not have to pay the event registration fee, but the live even runner must set a target of £2,500, and the three virtual marathon runners attempt to raise £1,000 each.
