Huddersfield-based fashion and textiles social enterprise Thread Republic CIC is one of 17 hubs around the country hosting events for Sustainable Fashion Week 2024.

Thread Republic CIC is a textiles reuse and skills hub based on the Piazza in Huddersfield town centre, sharing the old Poundworld retail unit with West Yorkshire Print Workshop.

Established in 2022 by four textile practitioners, Thread Republic runs a haberdashery entirely stocked by items donated from the Kirklees community, a textile skills workshop programme and an events programme to encourage everyone to think more about creativity and sustainability when it comes to clothing and textiles.

Thread Republic is an official hub for Sustainable Fashion Week 2024 which takes place from September 21-28 and here’s a link to the full programme: https://www.sustainablefashionweek.uk/huddersfield
