Award-winning family-run business The Body Doctor is to sponsor Huddersfield Town for the next two years – and it’s a proud moment for company directors and brothers Sam and Adam Wymer.
The Denby Dale-based company, which specialises in eye health and eye care solutions, was founded in 2012 by Sue Grant, who was later joined in the business by her sons Sam and Adam.
The company has now become an associate partner with Town until the end of the 2023-24 season and it’s a big moment for Terriers fans Sam and Adam.
Operations director Adam said: “Having followed Huddersfield Town for many years, sponsoring ‘our team’ for the first time is a proud moment for our family and The Body Doctor team.
“Both my brother and I used to sell matchday programmes at the stadium when we were teenagers and now, years later, to be involved with the club in this new way is amazing.”
Sales and marketing director Sam added: “We pride ourselves in being a local family-run business in the heart of West Yorkshire and HTAFC’s values mirror those of our own.
“The club are famous for their ‘Terrier Spirit’: taking pride in the shirt, showing proper grit and determination and giving everything for their fans and community.”
Town’s commercial director Ian Birtley said: “I’d like to welcome The Body Doctor as our latest club partner to our growing partner programme.
“We pride ourselves on working with businesses across the Yorkshire region and this partnership is another example of this and our partnership values, and it means even more when the directors of the business are lifelong supporters. I look forward to working with The Body Doctor.”
The Body Doctor celebrated its 10th anniversary this year and has won two prestigious Queen’s Awards for Enterprise.
The company won its first Queen’s Award in 2016 and earlier this year was awarded its second in the Innovation category for its Sterileyes product, an anti-bacterial compound which is featured on the company’s hot eye compresses, used in the treatment of dry eye disease, MGD and blepharitis, or inflammation of the eyelids.
