It’s a sound idea but there’s only a few days left to sign up.

Sound Adventures is a project run by Yorkshire Sound Women Network (YSWN) in partnership with Huddersfield’s Lawrence Batley Theatre.

Run as part of Our Biennale, a young people’s festival for arts and culture, Sound Adventures is a free online course for girls in Kirklees aged 11-16 to learn about audio technology.

Those taking part will learn how to record and edit audio and create their own interactive ‘soundwalk’ for smartphones.

Delivered by Zoom the six-week course starts on March 10.

A spokesman for Huddersfield-based YSWN said: “There are just a few days left to sign up for Sound Adventures and start an exciting journey into music technology.

“The free online course offers the chance to gain a fantastic set of technical and creative skills to inform and inspire future explorations into the world of sound and music.”
