Residents at a Lindley care home had two very friendly four-legged visitors – alpacas called Zam and Sandman.
Stepping Out Alpaca Trekking brought the animals to Lindley Grange Bupa Care Home and the gentle presence of Zam and Sandman brought joy and smiles to all.
Rebecca Hirst, activity co-ordinator at Lindley Grange, said: “It was a great experience that everyone really enjoyed.
“The two alpacas were so friendly and let everyone feed them treats and stroke their backs. We had such great feedback from the residents. We loved it so much they’re coming back to visit in February.”
One of the residents, Daena Jackson, said: “I loved every minute of it. I enjoyed walking round with them while they were saying hello. I love animals.”
Pat Lockwood, another resident, said: “It was an unusual experience but very enjoyable.”
Stepping Out Alpaca Trekking also offers treks to the public on farmland in Almondbury.
