The public are being invited to a special open day to see inside the new £15 million A&E at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

The new building is due to receive its first patients in October but the public can book a slot to have a look around before it opens.

The open day is being held on Thursday September 21 and bookings are open now. There’s an additional ‘quiet slot’ at 9am for people with additional needs.

Construction work has been completed on the building on South Drive, off Acre Street, and the internal fit-out is underway.

The single-storey building is about 50% larger than the old A&E and has a separate paediatrics area for children and also integrated x-ray facilities.
