Huddersfield Ukrainian Club at Edgerton is hosting a Jazz Weekend with world-class acts to raise money for Ukraine.
From 1pm until 11pm on Saturday and Sunday August 13 and 14, an exciting variety of music from around the globe will ring out across Huddersfield.
Performances in the ‘Jazz Weekend’ will include selections from Django and European Jazz, Ukrainian, English and Irish Folk, Blues, Tango, and Latin-American vibes.
Main Hall Line-Up:
Two easily recognisable names in jazz households around the UK, Colin and Moreno Cosimini will be performing a selection of gypsy jazz.
Mestisa, a fab UK-based Latin-American folk band, will be jamming out music from Chile, Bolivia, and Mexico on the Saturday.
The legendary Huddersfield musician Pat Fulgoni will also be performing, alongside the talented Martin Chung. Together, they will form the special one-off set ‘Cosmic Blues’ marking the first time the duo has played together.
The line-up also features Huddersfield’s very own Ukrainian singer-songwriter Ulia Lord. Originally from Kyiv, Ulia has recently re-settled in the area and will be singing a mix of her own and traditional Ukrainian folk music.
Lots of other world class acts will also be performing including Adrian Ingram’s Jazz Dawgs, Yorkshire Swing Collective, Vernon Bigsby & Friends, & Hot Club Hudds. More bands are being added every day as the word gets out, everyone wants to be involved.
If you are a fan of live music, this event is not to be missed. Support live music and Ukraine at the same time!
