Several new clubs have joined the Huddersfield and District Football League for the 2021-2022 season.

AFC Volunteers from Calderdale, Thorpe Giants from Wakefield and West End Park from Cleckheaton have all entered teams and will start the new season in Division 4. Honley have also decided to re-start their district league campaign in Division 4 as a new club.

There are also several new reserve sides entering the League in Reserve Division 4. The new teams are Shepley Reserves, Honley Reserves, Kirkheaton Rovers Reserves, Dalton Dynamos A and West End Park Development.

Kexborough Chiefs have left to join the Barnsley District League and Hepworth United have moved up to play in the Sheffield & Hallamshire County Senior League. AFC Dalton Reserves and Honley A teams have withdrawn from the League.

Junction have changed their name to Marsh United and Laund Hill have changed their name to Huddersfield Lindley Borough Community Club.

The officers of the League are Margaret Whitaker who is the President of the League, Neville Wordsworth is the League Chair and Fixtures Secretary, Mick Cartledge is the League Vice-Chair, Howard Young is the League Secretary and Aidan Hopson is the Registration Secretary and Treasurer.

The League will be formed of four divisions for first teams, four divisions for reserve teams and promotion and relegation will be two up and two down.

The season’s fixtures will start with two rounds of midweek games. On Tuesday August 24, divisions 1 to 4 play and on Thursday August 26 reserve divisions 1 to 4 play with the first Saturday games for all divisions on September 4.
