A day centre for people with learning difficulties and physical disabilities has three major fundraising events lined up … and businesses are welcome to have stalls at them.

Waves in Slaithwaite will have a spring fayre, a summer fayre and a Christmas fayre and the centre is very large inside so has plenty of room for more stallholders. They are ideal events for small or new businesses.

Many businesses already regularly support Waves by selling at the fayres but more are welcome with up to 300 people usually attending.

Waves is beside Huddersfield Narrow Canal next to the Handmade Bakery and the events will be the spring fayre on Saturday, April 13, the summer fayre on Saturday, August 10 and the Christmas fayre on Saturday, November 30. All run from 10am to 3pm.

It costs just £20 for a stall for the spring and summer fayres and £25 for the Christmas one.

Waves is one of the most innovative day centres in the UK. It helps people aged 18 and over with learning and/or physical difficulties lead full lives with activities including performing arts, baking, making music, arts and crafts, virtual reality games, swimming, walks, horticulture in the Waves garden, caring for animals and sharing what they do on social media.

The members also get the chance to go on exciting holidays to places such as Center Parcs and trips to the Isle of Barra in Scotland. It also provides respite care and overnight breaks when members’ families face a crisis.
