The Moon Convoy will visit St George’s Square in Huddersfield on Wednesday May 18 (6pm-10pm).
Moon Convoy is a fully sustainable armada of vehicles, stopping in towns and cities across the UK. It features floats and interactive pieces starting with a large rotating moon that appears and disappears at night with further interactive and ultra-violet experiences.
What can you expect at the event?
Expect cosmic transformations through live music and DJ sets, a full size replica of nine metre-long Archie The Squid who resides at The Natural History Museum in London, talks, film screenings, an inflatable playground designed with the help of scientists at NASA SSERVI and the SETI Institute, a nine-piece Arkestra and a larger than life red phone through which visitors can talk to the moon.
And if that’s not enough, there will also be a ‘Moon Zine’ library where you can check out the full back catalogue of the boundary-breaking Moon Press, an immersive Soundbath experience – and the opportunity to record a track with a music producer – with food trucks and a bar to keep you fuelled.
