A former Colne Valley teacher turned entrepreneur has won a £50,000 innovation investment.
Michael Crinnion, founder of Mind Body Goals Ltd, created Luma³, a device which helps control breathing and combat stress.
The Brighouse-based company is a pioneer in the development of science-based wellbeing products and has won a £50,000 investment from Innovate UK’s ‘Begin and Build Award.’
Michael, who was vice-principal at Colne Valley High School in Linthwaite until March 2021 when he left teaching to set up his own company, said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be chosen as one of the few entrepreneurs to win this award from Innovate UK.
“I’m really excited to be on this journey, creating products that are really having a positive impact for so many people. Every time we grow we further our reach and positive influence on people’s health and mental wellbeing and that feels incredible.”
Luma³ Go aims to make evidence-based practices for mental wellness available to everyone, regardless of age, ability or socio-economic status.
With a mission to help people learn life-changing skills in easy and accessible ways, Mind Body Goals is set to utilise investment for the design, development, user testing and market readiness of Luma³ Go.
Michael supports the community with a ‘10:1 Initiative’, which promises to donate one product to a school, college or university for every 10 sold.
