Businesses in Kirklees are being offered free membership of the Huddersfield-based Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce.

Kirklees businesses with 50 employees or fewer can join for a year, thanks to sponsorship by the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and Kirklees Council.

Members can take advantage of the support and services the chamber offers including financial, legal and employee benefits.

Companies benefit from skills workshops and networking, as well as discounted export services and half-price documentation for those trading outside of the UK.

The chamber also represents organisations by lobbying policy makers locally, regionally and nationally to ensure members’ voices are heard on the issues that are affecting them.

Martin Hathaway, managing director of the Mid Yorkshire chamber, said: “We are thrilled to be able to offer these new membership packages to support even more businesses in the Kirklees region.

“Businesses have faced unprecedented challenges during the last 12 months, and we hope that through the chamber they can access the vital support needed to recover and thrive in 2021.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for organisations in Kirklees to grow their businesses and get connected, supported and represented, both locally and nationally, as we work together to weather the storm of this pandemic.”

The subsidised scheme will offer organisation based in Kirklees free chamber membership for one year.

Applications must be made by March 12. Memberships are available on a first come, first served basis.

After the first 12 months, members wishing to extend their membership will pay the standard fee.
