Huddersfield Lawn Tennis and Squash Club marched to victory against Skelmanthorpe in an overall 12–6 victory with Mike Coombes playing what was described as “the match of his life.”

At seed 1, Dan Lawton beat Mark of Skelmanthorpe in a 3–1 victory. Mark played a consistent ‘line and length’ game in hope of outplaying the HLTSC seed 1. However, Dan managed to hold the match with some aggressive boasts and drops.

Mike Coombes played the match of his career, holding Paul 3-2 in an intense match.
Mike took the first two games in his notoriously fast-paced style in what was the closest match of the night. Mike battled for every point to edge the game, taking the last 11-8.

Tony Stead, a recent squash convert, played at seed 3. A valiant effort saw Tony lose 3–1 against an experienced opponent. Tony continues to show a consistent improvement from his first three team games.
