Huddersfield Town Women’s big FA Cup tie against Super League side Everton has been switched to the John Smith’s Stadium.
The Terriers usually play their home games at the Stafflex Arena at Storthes Hall but the club’s Vitality Women’s FA Cup fourth round clash has been moved.
The game will be held on Sunday January 30 and Town Women hope to smash their record attendance, which currently stands at 1,115.
It’s a huge fixture for the club under recently-appointed boss Glen Preston and club officials hope Huddersfield football fans will rally behind the women’s team and turn out in force to make it a day to remember.
With uncertainty over possible Covid restrictions no kick-off time or ticket arrangements have yet been confirmed.
Huddersfield Town Women chair Alison Bamforth said: “The whole club are incredibly excited to have the privilege of welcoming Jean-Luc Vasseur and his Everton side to Huddersfield.
“We are delighted that our players once again have an opportunity to test themselves against WSL opposition, building on the experience of playing Brighton & Hove Albion WFC in last year’s Vitality Women’s FA Cup 5th round.
“I would like to extend huge thanks to Huddersfield Town AFC for hosting the game at the John Smith’s Stadium and would love to see the whole of Huddersfield out in force to be that ‘12th man/player/woman’ and perhaps help generate a bit of FA Cup magic!”
