Huddersfield RUFC have sent their congratulations to Academy product Harry Newman who’s just been awarded his first international rugby league cap.
Huddersfield-born Harry, 23, the Leeds Rhinos centre, made his England debut against Tonga at St Helens. England won the first of the three scheduled autumn tests against the Pacific Islanders 20-18.
The second test takes place at Huddersfield’s John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday October 28.
Harry began playing rugby in the Huddersfield RUFC Age Grade, progressing to Academy level before signing pro with the Rhinos.
He is pictured third from the left in the back row with the 2017 Huddersfield RUFC Academy team. To his right is Titus Gwaze who was capped at Under 17 level for England RL and went on to play the 13-man game professionally.
Also in the photo are Toby Walker, Arthur Wilkinson and Harry Woodhouse who have all played First XV rugby with Huddersfield RUFC.
Congratulations, Harry, from all at HRUFC.
