Golcar United twice came from behind at leaders North Ferriby only to go down 3-2 to a winner from Danny East deep into stoppage time from what looked like an off-side position.

The Dransfield Stadium side took all three points, with East grabbing the victory in the fifth minute of added time. The defeat leaves Golcar 17th in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division and extends North Ferriby’s lead over second-placed Emley AFC to eight points.

North Ferriby went ahead in the opening two minutes through Niall Tisley who blasted into the roof of the net after a corner. The Weavers hit back quickly and Slater Barnes levelled with a half volley in the 8th minute.

The home side were back in front in the 38th minute when Danny Clarke cashed in on a mistake by Golcar keeper Harry Stead making it 2-1 going into the break.

The second half started with another quickfire goal and Golcar equalised again when Kayle Price fired in off the post after a Buddy Cox cross.

There were plenty of chances after that but just when it seemed Golcar had held out for a valuable point, North Ferriby snatched a dramatic winner, East slotting home one-on-one with the keeper.

There were furious Golcar protests about off-side and video footage appeared to back their claims but the goal was allowed to stand.

Golcar’s next game is at home to Knaresborough Town at 7.45pm on Tuesday November 22 at the Skye Direct Stadium in the NECL League Cup Third Round.
