People can have a ‘right proper Yorkshire day out’ at a festival in the Colne Valley.

The Two Gates Festival on Saturday, September 30, will feature a welly wanging competition and an inflatable assault course along with a range of stalls and crafts from local businesses.

The event, organised by charity Friends of Two Gates, will raise money for new playground equipment at Slaithwaite Church of England Junior and Infant School.

Hosted in the grounds of the school on Holme Lane, the festival will also have food and drink including a barbecue, Mario and Luigi’s Pizza stall, a Prosecco bar and even a kids’ cocktail bar.

Other attractions include face-painting, crazy hair makeovers, glitter tattoos and a chance to sit in a fire engine.

The festival runs from 1pm to 4pm and is free to enter.
