Golcar United club secretary Ben Senior has urged fans to take up the early bird offer of a discount on 2022-23 season tickets. Prices remain low for the next week before rising in July.

The early bird offer prices are as follows: adults £60 and concessions £30. After June 30 the cost will go up to £80 and £40 respectively.

The Weavers won promotion to the Northern Counties East League Premier Division but prices have been kept down as a thank you to loyal supporters.

Mr Senior said: “We have frozen the prices from what they were last year. If you look at how many home games we’ll have next year it will work out at about £3 a game which in our minds is a terrific bargain.” Season tickets can be bought HERE

“If you look at other things going up in price we wanted to make our matchday affordable and I think we’ve done that. Beer hasn’t gone up at the ground and it’s a great day out for all the family in what is a fun, enjoyable atmosphere.

“It was an easy decision by the committee to freeze the prices and to thank our magnificent supporters. They were terrific last year and really backed us and helped us get promoted.”

Fans will still be able to watch United through the winter when this year’s World Cup is on. Unlike the Premier League and Sky Bet Championship, which will have a break for a month or six weeks, the Weavers will continue.

Mr Senior thinks this may boost attendances and he’s urging Huddersfield Town fans to buy a Golcar season ticket to ensure they don’t miss out on their live football fix in November.

He added: “The World Cup has distorted the football calendar with it being played in the winter. Obviously Town won’t be playing in that time and some Huddersfield fans might miss their local football fix.

“I’d urge them to come and watch us, support your local side and enjoy watching the World Cup at the same time. We want to be Huddersfield Town’s second team and we have lots to offer here.”

The Weavers will once again take on Huddersfield Town’s academy in pre-season. Last year the game attracted a crowd of 650 people and that was under Covid-19 restrictions. This time the club is looking to have over 1,000 watch the game at the Skye Direct Stadium on July 26 (7.30) Tickets for the game can be bought HERE.

Mr Senior is excited for next season as the club switches from the Lancashire-based North West Counties League to the Yorkshire-based Northern Counties East and will be in the same division as local rivals Emley AFC.

He said: “In the North West league we started to build up our crowds last season and got upwards of 500-800 coming quite often which was fantastic. The village really got behind us.

“Sometimes the travelling support wasn’t as big and I think that will be a big difference next season. Some of the clubs are bigger and bring big support but also most of the journeys are closer.

“It’s a huge season for us, it’s the highest level we’ve ever played in and we are going to visit teams we haven’t played before. It gives the club a chance to make new connections and also attract different fans. It’s all new to us but the drive to be successful hasn’t changed.”

As well as season tickets being on sale there are also sponsorship offers available. Matchday sponsorship stands at £60 and player sponsorship at £100.
