A former University of Huddersfield student passionate about raising awareness of breast cancer in young people is holding a big fundraising event with the emphasis on FUN.
Emma Walker, a politics student who graduated in 2020, was president of the university’s CoppaFeel Uni Boob Team and helped raise hundreds of pounds for the charity CoppaFeel.
The charity was set up by twin sisters Kristin and Maren Hallenga in 2009 after Kris was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer at the age of just 23.
The charity promotes early detection of breast cancer in both women and men by encouraging people under 30 to check their breasts every month.
Emma is holding The Pink Party at The Warehouse in Huddersfield on Wednesday March 20 at 7pm. There’s a DJ, music and pink drinks along with a nostalgia quiz, beer pong and a hot wings challenge.
Emma said: “CoppaFeel is such an amazing charity working tirelessly to raise awareness about breast cancer and its symptoms amongst young people. I know how devastating breast cancer can be, so I am passionate about helping in any way I can.
“The Pink Party is a great way to get involved and support a great cause, whilst having a fun night out!”
No need to pre-book, just turn up on the night.
