A special guest is visiting Huddersfield’s John Smith’s Stadium on Wednesday (March 23) for a sit down meal event. That certain someone is the former Liverpool, Newcastle and England striker Kevin Keegan.

Kevin, now 71, will regale guests with some fantastic stories from his days as a player, coach and manager.

Having started his career at Scunthorpe United, he then moved to Liverpool where he played over 230 times between 1971-1977.

In that time he won the First Division three times, the FA Cup once, the European Cup, the UEFA Cup twice and the FA Charity Shield twice and was managed by both legendary managers Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley whilst at the Reds.

He also won the Ballon d’Or twice in 1978 and 1979. He was inducted into the Football League’s Hall of Fame in 2002 and played over 60 times for England.

Attendees will have the opportunity to ask the star questions on the night about his life and career in football.

The evening will be hosted by comedian Jed Stone. Stone’s energy and enthusiasm combined with his lightening quick ad-libs and topical material ensure that every function he hosts is always a huge success, making Jed one of the most sought-after comedians in the country.

On hosting the evening Huddersfield Town’s commercial director Ian Birtley said: “We are delighted to welcome Kevin back to the John Smith’s Stadium for the evening.

“Following on from the last two years which has restricted all of us from attending events, I’m really looking forward to seeing a full suite of people on an evening which will be filled with good food, drinks and insights from Kevin’s career.

“The club and stadium have worked really hard to improve the quality of our events at the stadium and I’m confident people will enjoy the format of the event along with the quality of our catering on offer.

“This will be the first of a number of after dinner events we will look to run with our next one earmarked for September.”

Tickets cost £65 per person including a two-course meal and a table for 10 can be purchased for £600. Tickets for the event can be found online by CLICKING HERE.
