Huddersfield-based acapella group Far Cry will be performing at an afternoon of music and cream teas on Sunday July 9 at 2pm.

They will be performing alongside talented singer-songwriter Carol Hodge at ‘The Cowshed’ on Parkgate Road, HD7 5XA, between Marsden and Slaithwaite.

Far Cry is a mixed acapella performance group singing songs from different folk traditions around the world, songs of freedom as well as more popular tunes and original material.

This includes anything from ‘Don’t Fence Me In’ to a rousing Luddite tribute, African work songs to songs about nature including ‘Wonderful World’ and ‘Wild Mountain Thyme.’

Singer/songwriter Carol Hodge, now back from her successful US tour, will also be performing her beautiful pop-infused, heart-wrenching melodies as well as songs that challenge authority and injustice.

Far Cry’s musical director Jenny Goodman, from Marsden, said: “We love singing together and it will be really special to be based at The Cowshed which is an intimate, yet quirky, venue with its own organic garden.

“Come prepared to sit on hay bales, but there will also be comfy chairs and a fabulous cream tea.”

Tickets for the event are just £12, or £10 concessions, to include a delicious cream tea. Doors open at 1.30pm and tickets are available to buy – click here
