Huddersfield Town striker Fraizer Campbell had a rare weekend off and was among the crowd for Golcar United’s play-off semi-final victory against AFC Blackpool.
Huddersfield-born Fraizer, 34, turned out to support two Golcar United mates Ash Flynn and Leon Henry. He played alongside Henry for Huddersfield Schoolboys.
Town had a blank weekend as they don’t play Luton until Monday night and Fraizer said: “With playing myself on a weekend I don’t usually get chance to come down. It was a big game and the atmosphere down here is intimate and intense.
“The grassroots is what it’s all about and the atmosphere was great with flares going off and people throwing pies on the pitch! I’ve enjoyed it.”

There were mixed fortunes for Flynn and Henry, however. Flynn scored Golcar’s second goal in the 2-2 draw and then slammed home the decisive penalty in the shoot-out which sent Golcar into Saturday’s play-off final at Holker Old Boys in Cumbria.
Henry was sent off in extra-time for a second bookable offence and will miss the final. Fraizer will also have to give the final a miss as Town have QPR at home on Good Friday and Middlesbrough away on Easter Monday.
