Emley AFC take on Staveley Miners Welfare on Saturday December 11 (3.00) in their final home game before Christmas. Boss Richard Tracey is confident going into the fixture.
The Pewits are currently 16th in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division whilst their opponents are two places above them. Both sides are on 22 points so a win for Emley could lift them up the table.
Tracey said: “We are feeling confident going into the fixture despite having some players out injured and we are yet to learn if we can keep some of our dual-registered players. It won’t be an easy game against Staveley who are a good side.
“It is a terrific opportunity for us to move up the table if we can get the win.”
In recent weeks Emley has performed well in the league beating Handsworth 7-0 and drawing 2-2 away at Garforth Town.
On the club’s recent form Tracey said: “We were outstanding against Handsworth and it was the complete performance. I thought we could have beaten Garforth but to get a draw at a tough place to go is still OK.
“I would like us to build on this good form now going into the Christmas period.”
