Are you the parent or carer of a child with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND)?

A series of drop-in sessions are being hosted at Kirklees libraries over the next few weeks – go along to discover more about SEND activities, support and services.

Council staff will be on hand to provide all the details you need about SEND support for children and young people aged 0-25, plus their families.

The events are open to everybody and will be an easy way to hear about the Kirklees Local Offer, a fantastic one-stop-shop for SEND information.

Clr Carole Pattison, Cabinet member for learning, aspiration and communities, said: “We want our children and young people to have the best possible start in life, helping them to be happy and achieve great outcomes.

“Offering the highest standards of SEND provision is very important to us. These are some of our most vulnerable children and we’re working hard to transform the way we support them.

“The Local Offer is a brilliant resource online, but we’re also building on that by going out into the community and talking to people in their local area.

“These will be friendly and informal events where anyone can pop into a library and find out more, so please do come along.”

The library sessions are taking place on:

  • June 27, 1pm to 3pm, Denby Dale
  • June 30, 10am to noon, Batley
