A comedian who is getting well known on TV after a sell-out tour and wowing the crowds at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe is coming to Huddersfield.

Emmanuel Sonubi – who once suffered heart failure on stage – has headlined Live At The Apollo and appeared on several TV programmes such as Have I Got News For You, QI, Alan Davies As Yet Untitled, Rhod Gilbert’s Growing Pains and The Apprentice’s ‘You’re Fired.’

He will be at the Lawrence Batley Theatre’s Cellar Theatre on Friday, May 31, at 8pm.

Emmanuel has become one of the hottest stand-up comics on the circuit and is now on his biggest UK tour so far. This new show takes the audience through a hilarious and heartfelt story that explores all the jobs that Emmanuel has done before becoming a comedian and how those experiences – many he was wildly unqualified to do – helped shape his comedy.

His jobs have included being a bouncer where he saw someone being stabbed with a stiletto, a tech employee working in IT and a musical theatre performer – all while becoming a father.

The show is simply called Emmanuel Sonubi: Curriculum Vitae. His previous show in 2022, Emancipated, sold out.

London-based Emmanuel said: “Emancipated was amazing but this time I’m back with a bigger show and a few surprises along the way.”
