A Christmas market is being planned in St George’s Square to celebrate the Huddersfield Christmas lights switch-on.

Kirklees Council has announced that the event and lights switch-on will take place on Saturday November 18 (12noon-7pm).

The council is inviting makers, bakers, artists, creators, doers, foodies, crafters, designers, suppliers, florists, sculptors, jewellers, printers, painters, authors and producers to get in touch if they want a stall.

The council is promising an exciting family fun day to kick-start the festive season with a Christmas market to showcase the best of Yorkshire.

There will be festive entertainment, food and drink and a main stage with live music acts, as part of Kirklees Year of Music 2023.

The deadline for stall applications is Sunday September 17 2023 and applications will not be accepted after that date.
