Amir Berchil put Emley AFC ahead against his former club but two second half goals saw North Ferriby end the Pewits’ unbeaten start to the season.
Emley squandered a half-time advantage to go down 2-1 at the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground on Saturday.
The opening of the game was pretty even with Luke Parkin firing at the visiting keeper but Ferriby gifted Emley the opener after 36 minutes when Berchil pounced on a weak defensive header.
Berchil lofted the ball over the defenders and it appeared to have crossed the line as Emley celebrated but Berchil made absolutely sure by belting it home to confirm the goal.
It was probably about right on the run of play as Emley had just about got on top, though Emley had a scare right on half-time when a free header from a corner was headed over.
Emley couldn’t really press home the authority after the break and the visitors gradually took control with Ferriby missing the target when well-placed.
The home side then conceded twice in two minutes, with a quarter of an hour left. Sub Mason Johnson had barely been on the field for 10 minutes when he turned the game on its head, finding a crisp finish for the equaliser and then firing low past Dec Lambton again to make it 2-1.
Emley sub Nathan Curtis bundled in a cross with what appeared to be his shoulder and the referee spotted it and blew for handball, stifling the Emley celebrations.
North Ferriby held out for the three points though Emley remain top of the Northern Premier League Division 1 East.
