A scarecrow festival running throughout Easter is underway in the Colne Valley … and it’s perfect for Disney fans.
There are 40 scarecrows to discover at Scapegoat Hill and neighbouring village Nettleton Hill with visitors amazed at the quality of the creations.
Some are more like full-on Disney scenes than scarecrows and people can get maps showing just where each scarecrow is and also a 40-question quiz with a question relating to each one.
Sheets cost just £3 and are available from https://bit.ly/3Tvjq1Q or from all the four main venues involved which are Scapegoat Hill Baptist Church, the Scape House Inn, Scapegoat Hill Liberal Club and the Pennine Manor Hotel.
All the money raised will go towards new play equipment at Scapegoat Hill Junior and Infant School.
The weekend fun lasts for four days. It began yesterday, Good Friday, with dozens of people on the trail and runs right through to Easter Monday. People are welcome on the trail from 9am to 7pm.
The chapel at Scape will be open from 12noon to 2pm on each day serving tea, coffee and cake.

Colne Valley singer songwriter Mason Whittle will be playing at Scapegoat Hill Liberal Club at 3pm on Easter Sunday while Huddersfield singer and guitarist Millie Smith will be performing at the Scape House at 4pm on Easter Saturday.
On Easter Sunday there is a Lion King family service at 11am followed by an Easter egg hunt at noon, craft-making for children in the church and inflatables on the school field from 10am to 3pm from Party Kings http://www.partykingshire.co.uk.
The Scape House will be serving pie and pies (£6) and hot dogs (£3) with £1 from every sale going to the school appeal.
People are urged to park at the hotel, chapel or the pub car parks and maps can be bought on the day from all the venues.
