Linthwaite Athletic are through to the final of the West Riding FA Challenge Cup with a thumping 6-1 win over Rawdon Old Boys from the West Yorkshire League Premier Division.
Linthwaite’s goals were scored by Connor Beaumont (two), Jake Morley (two), Jacob Waterson and Ryan Wadsworth.
The West Riding FA Challenge Cup Final will be played at the home of the West Riding FA, Fleet Lane, Woodlesford, Leeds, LS26 8NX, on Friday May 10at 7.30pm.
In the only game played in the Huddersfield District League Premier Division Newsome beat Netherton 4-1 with goals from Doran Jordan, Deon Simmonds, Todd Calvert and Ryan Fisher. Michael Carter scored the consolation for Netherton.
Saddleworth United dropped down to second place in Division 1 following their shock 2-1 defeat to neighbours Diggle with a brace from Samuel Bagshaw for Diggle.
Moorside are up to third place following their 5-0 win over bottom club Holme Valley Academicals. Jason Evan hit three with further goals from Joe Fagan and James Corry.
Huddersfield Laund Hill went a point clear at the top with a 5-0 win over Scissett with goals from Joe Fitzpatrick, Jordan Jaber, Niall Joseph, Matthew Lorryman and Zach Nash.
AFC Volunteers remain top of Division 2 despite losing 3-1 at home to Linthwaite Athletic Reserves whose goals were scored by Danny Murray and Tevin Watson. Lewis Brierley scored for the Vols.
Meltham Athletic stay in second place after their 1-1 draw with Deighton Reserves with Jarren Lewis scoring for Deighton and Louis Polat scoring for Meltham.
Eddie Hamlett (two) and Craig Smith (two) scored for Newsome Reserves in their 4-3 win over Netherton Reserves whose goals were scored by Thomas Yarwood (two) and Isaac Dyson.
In Division 3 Holmbridge Reserves beat Meltham Athletic Reserves 4-2 with goals from Louis Sykes (two) and Thomas Bull (two). Jack Ellis-Pownall scored both for Meltham.
Cumberworth Reserves moved to within a point of Division 4 leaders Kirkheaton Rovers Reserves with a resounding 9-0 win over Linthwaite Athletic A, who stay in third place.
Britannia Sports A beat neighbours Fenton United 7-1 with goals from Jake Gibson (two), Nathan Hurst, Louis Hirst, Simon Kent, Sam Hillhouse and Simeon Yianni. Robbie Chapman scored for Fenton United.
