A Huddersfield company has its first showroom … in a landmark building that was home to another business there for more than 150 years.
Bray Interiors now has a showroom at Aspley House on Silver Street at the junction with Wakefield Road in Aspley. The building was previously occupied by Bower & Child which was established in 1870 and specialised in cookers, stoves and fireplaces.
Although open now, Bray Interiors will be celebrating its official opening on Saturday, March 16, from 10am to 2pm featuring free cakes from Slaithwaite-based charity Ruddi’s Retreat and coffee from Nespresso.
Bray Interiors is one of the sponsors for the Huddersfield Giants Trust and also sponsors the Giants’ under 16s girls’ team and it’s hoped one of the Giants first team players will be at the opening too.
Bray Interiors began as Bray Building Services in Meltham 12 years ago, set up by director Dan Bray, and then moved to Lockwood. The business can do full house renovations.
Dan said: “We now have our first showroom in a great location. Kitchens are the very heartbeat of a house which is why we wanted to show just what we can do.
“As builders it means we can do any work needed for a kitchen from knocking down walls to building an extension and we have a team of plumbing and electrical contractors we’ve worked with for a long time. This means we can do every project from start to finish so the customer doesn’t need to organise anything and will know the full cost of the project before we start.”
The showroom is open weekdays and Saturdays, run by showroom consultant Joe Ragona.
Bray Interiors, which now employs six full-time staff, provides a free measuring service and quotations and the kitchens and bedrooms are mid to high end range.
