A Huddersfield training expert has flown to the Middle East to give a course in facilities management.
Nigel Chilvers, of Dalton, is a partner in West Yorkshire-based Aven Training which provides a range of training courses for the construction industry.
The business works across the UK and can also give courses online but Nigel was specially asked to go to Jordan and provide a bespoke course on facilities management and customer care to dozens of workers.
Nigel is well-known in the training sector so was asked to do it by the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM) and global people development company Unihouse.
He said: “It was a real honour to be asked to draw up the training course and to then go and teach it in the Middle East. It’s a testament as to how highly respected Aven Training is within the industry and helps to put West Yorkshire on the international facilities management training map.”
Nigel is now working on a bespoke course for the London Fire Brigade.
Aven Training (http://www.aventraining.com/) provides a wide range of NVQs for the construction trade leading to top qualifications such as the coveted ‘black card’ administered by the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) which means those who pass can then manage construction sites.
Aven also does training courses for construction, the built environment and maintenance management.
Aven Training helps people achieve a Level 6 NVQ in Construction Site Management or Level 7 NVQ in Senior Construction Management in just two to three months.
Successful candidates in both NVQs will be able to get their Site Manager’s CSCS black card and those who pass their Level 7 will be fast-tracked into becoming members of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).
