Dan Naidole says he wants to stay with Golcar United next season after helping them to promotion via the drama of the play-offs.
The 31-year-old attacking midfielder scored 26 goals in all competitions last campaign and was a crucial part of the Weavers squad.
Naidole has been one of the first names on the teamsheet for joint managers Ash and Gav Connor and he could be a key signing as the club moves up.
The club don’t yet know which league they will be playing in next season. They were in the North West Counties so could move into the Premier Division or they could be switched to the Northern Counties East League Premier Division – the same division as Kirklees rivals Emley AFC.
On wanting to stay at United, Naidole said: “A few of the fans have already asked if I’m staying next season. Obviously I have to sit down with Ash and Gav but I want to stay. I’ve loved this year, it’s a brilliant dressing room so I have no reason to leave.

“We don’t know what league we’ll be in next year but I hope it’s Emley’s league. I’d love us to come up against them. It’d be great.”
Naidole was a part of the team that played in the play-off final against Holker Old Boys in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria. Golcar came from behind to win the game 2-1 with Ben Burnett scoring the winner.
On the game and the celebrations, Naidole said: “It was a long way to travel and we were the underdogs. The supporters came up and really made a difference. We prepared for the game right as a squad.
“Before we played Blackpool in the play-off semi-final we’d been in poor form but we had trained well before that match, won it and then trained well for the final. You could see the lads really wanted it.

“When they scored I was a bit concerned because we knew from playing them before how good they were at defending.
“We started the fight back, we had not fought back for a while so what a time to turn up and turn a game around!
“When the referee blew that final whistle and we knew we’d done it, it was an amazing feeling. Some of the lads hadn’t played higher than this level and some had never been promoted. It was a special day with special memories made with amazing people.”
