Apprentice winner Harpreet Kaur has been told her life is about to change forever.

The Huddersfield entrepreneur beat Kathryn Burn in the final of the BBC 1 series to earn a £250,000 investment in her dessert business from Lord Sugar.

There were raucous scenes at Barni’s dessert parlour in Hillhouse as the result was announced.

Harpreet battled through 12 weeks of gruelling challenges to come out on top, despite a nervous pitch in the final.

Harpreet, 30, in partnership with her sister Gurvinder, plans to rebrand her business Oh So Yum! and launch ambitious expansion.

Former bank worker Harpreet said: “I’m just ecstatic. I’m so happy. I’m proud of myself. I’ve worked really, really hard to get to this point.”

Afterwards Lord Sugar’s advisor Karren Brady told her: “Your life is about to change in a massive way.

“You have got the money from Lord Sugar and you have a business partner who is one of the most successful and respected entrepreneurs this world has ever seen and you are going to fulfil all the ambitions you set for yourself at the start of this process and I am so pleased for you.”

Harpreet’s family comes from Birmingham and the family moved to Yorkshire where her parents Jas and Pete run a convenience store in Brighouse.

Harpreet also revealed how the show had filmed two different endings, meaning she and Kathryn only found out last week who had won – after a six-month wait.
