A café specialising in Greek food is the latest food outlet to open in the Packhorse Centre in Huddersfield.
It’s a first business venture for Angelo Zeqo, 31, who launched Greek O’Clock last week and plans to open seven days a week.
Angelo works alongside chef Tao Rexho, 34, and the duo serve up an English menu alongside authentic Greek breakfasts, souvlaki wraps, Greek pizzas, burgers, jacket potatoes and salads.
Angelo said: “I serve good coffee and Tao has a passion for food. We are a good combination. We don’t want to make lots of big words. We want our food to say it all.”
Everything is made fresh every day and the café is open 8am-5pm.
The Hartley Group has signed up four new occupiers to take on space at Globe Innovation Centre in Slaithwaite.
The Innovation Centre, which occupies three floors in the historic Globe Mill, is now nearly 50% let. The new deals follow an announcement last December that Linthwaite-based pharmaceutical firm Thornton & Ross has relocated 120 staff to occupy 16,000 sq ft of new headquarters accommodation at The Globe.
Innovate Orthaepedics Ltd, which works with surgeons to design and manufacture medical devices, has secured a five-year lease to take 1,000 sq ft on the fourth floor at Globe Innovation Centre.
Manchester-based Euro Digital Systems Ltd, which specialises in the supply and maintenance of digital printers and multi-function photocopiers, has also agreed to take 517 sq ft, also on the fourth floor for its Yorkshire operation, while Integrated Life Science (ILS) Group, has secured a further 688 sq ft on the fourth floor.
The fourth deal is agreed with electricity networks and transition to net zero specialists, Blake Clough Consulting which has secured a 200 sq ft self-contained space.
Chris Smith, a spokesperson for Hartley, said: “The Globe is assisting in driving the ‘Powerhouse of the North’ and is ideally located.
“This state-of-the-art business provision within a highly desirable place to live with fast connectivity to both Manchester and Leeds, has allowed these businesses to facilitate expansion plans but remain in the local area, supporting local employment.”
A partnership between Hartley Property Trust Ltd and Kirklees Council has allowed an investment of more than £5 million to transform The Globe to provide 80,000 sq ft of innovation space.
Fabi Viola, director of Brighouse-based web design company Fab Media, is celebrating two awards.
Last year Fabi, originally from Golcar, won an award for Brandling Company of the Year from Prestige Awards and has now been recognised as one of the top three web design companies in Calderdale by Three Best Rated.
Fabi said: “To be recognised as one of the best companies providing web design services in Calderdale is a huge achievement for us. It’s only through the tremendous support of our clients that we have been able to get this far.”
Fabi, who graduated from Manchester University, worked for a Huddersfield firm before launching his own business.
One of his clients was the Huddersfield-based charity Ruddi’s Retreat and Fabi rebranded the charity’s new Ruddi’s café in Slaithwaite.
Last year Fab Media moved to BrigHub, a co-working office space at Vulcan House in Foundry Street, Brighouse.
Huddersfield-based content creation agency Pikcells Ltd has helped Marshalls, one of the UK’s leading landscaping product manufacturers, create a virtual sample library of 1,200 products.
The 3D models can be viewed by customers on any web browser and in an augmented reality mode on mobile devices making it simpler for customers to envisage what paving products will look like without the need to send out a sample.
Sion Harrison, digital director at Marshalls, said: “Virtual samples are a more environmentally friendly way for our customers to plan their new outdoor spaces.
“It’s a great use of a new technology that helps provide greater online product certainty, allowing our customers to make decisions quicker and easier whilst reducing the impact on the environment.”
Richard Benson, co-founder of Pikcells, said: “Digitising 1,200 heavy paving products is a huge undertaking and not something which has really been done before so a lot of the tech and processes had to be developed from scratch.
“Careful consideration was made to ensure colour accuracy and details so that the 3D models are as reliable as photography but with the advantage of being able to view it from all angles.”
